Development pipeline: internal development programs, in-licensed compounds, products
SEPS has built a pipeline of 6 programs with SMC0001 (most advanced) and SMC0002 nearing animal 'Proof-of-Concept'. Both programs have generated convincing animal data, validating SEPS Pharma's innovative prodrug technology. SEPS Pharma's pipeline is based on its novel prodrug approaches and innovative drug delivery systems of generic drugs, drugs of which the patent rights are near expiration and in-licensed promising compounds.
The company focuses onnternal product development programs applying novel prodrug approaches:
• 'IV to oral' concept: Development of oral dosage forms of drugs, which are currently administered intravenously, such as SMC0001, SMC0004 and SMC0006.
• 'Oral to long-acting injectable' concept: Development of long-acting injectables of drugs, which are currently delivered through (multiple) daily oral administration(s), including SMC0002, SMC0004 and SMC0005.
SMC0001, SMC0004 and SMC0006 are currently administered as an intravenous injection. SEPS Pharma is developing oral formulations of SMC0001, SMC0004 and SMC0006 enhancing the applications of existing drugs through improving patient's comfort, reducing hospital associated healthcare costs.
SMC0002, SMC0003 and SMC0005 are orally available as immediate release formulations. SEPS Pharma is developing long-acting dosage forms based on its novel prodrug approaches. |
